Tasty and fun gingerbread house January 3, 2009 Gingerbread house was easy to make, frosting was very tasty. I used cardboard instead of the plastic tray so that it would be more stable. I used some other candies (hershey's kisses, sour patch candies, & used chocolate raspberry cookies for the roof) because I didn't like some of the candies included. The candy canes were broken, which I guess happens during shipment. There was a minor break in the roof, which was easily repaired by putting frosting and leaving it in the freezer for 15-20 mins. I had a lot of leftover candy and green frosting. Wish there was more white royal frosting, but it was sufficient to make the house. All in all, I was very pleased and would buy again.
Best Kit ever! December 29, 2008 By far, this has been the best kit ever. The frosting is already made to go (unlike some others where you have to mix the powder). Also, the frosting is truly sticky and holds the gingerbread parts super well. Every other kit I've ever worked doesn't do so good. Also, there is this tray where the base of the house goes and holds it well. It was just the best. I plan on buying the same one next year.
Great price Quick shipping December 16, 2008 This company is a pleasure to deal with. Customer Service was a joy. Would definately order from this company again.Had a slight problem with gingerbread houses and they were a joy to deal with.
Not bad... December 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I put this kit together tonight with my two young sons and we had a ball. (We paid $10 for it at Fred Meyer, which was $5 off their normal price, so beware that the cost on this site is ridiculously high). The pieces were easy to assemble and the tray that comes with the kit is handy (beats having to find some cardboard to cover with tin foil. My only complaint is the frosting because it got overly gooey before we could finish our assembly and it wasn't tough enough to hold some of the heavier candy. I kept putting it in the fridge to firm it up a little. I'd also recommend cutting the tip of the frosting at less than the 1/4" that the instructions recommend. I'd say 1/8th" would have been better. Overall, I was impressed with the finished product. It was easy to clean up the mess, there was plenty of candy and some to spare, and the kids had a blast. I bought a similar kit in the shape of a train and we look forward to putting that one together as well.
awesome for the price November 24, 2008 but I found it at target and paid $8.00... great kit, but look around because 13 bucks (and almost 10 to ship) is too pricey.
